Photos & Images

This was more fun.  Having many pictures to post for friends and relatives from my vacation I went to Picasa and found that fun.  I was able to edit photos I had saved from other vacations and from holidays and added them to a screen saver slide show that I have on my home computer.

I have my vacation photos on Kodak because that is where my sister puts her pictures and we just email the albums to each other. My kids use photobucket.  It wasn’t as easy as I would like it to be, I had to download each picture separately but then I decided not to do all of them.  I am still putting captions on them.  Unfortunately Kodak Gallery does’t allow a link, you have to send an email for someone to view the photos, a weakness of the site.  I’ll have to try some other site to be able to have a link to the photos.

RSS & Newsreaders

I tried to sign up for RSS feeds and don’t think I really understand this so I will come back to it at another time.  I just would like to say that I like to get my news from the newspaper and NPR.  I don’t want to sound like a dinosaur but getting my news online doesn’t really have much appeal to me.  Sometimes I don’t want to know things right away.  But I will try again to figure it out.

I’m back

I’m back from ETO and now have to get back into these 23 things.  One good aspect is that I have many pictures to play with on one of the photo sites.  I was asked in a comment where I went for my vacation.  It was to Slovenia, the land of my ancestors.  I still have relatives there and so does my husband and after touring the country (it is the size of Connecticut and has 2 million people) we visited them.  It is a beautiful country with with the Alps and a small but beautiful beach on the Adraictic Sea.  So if you are looking for someplace that is different and not so crowded, try Slovenia.  And as an added bonus every hotel we stayed at had internet access and every other person had a cell phone.  So, technology has really made the world smaller.

One more thing before I go on ETO.

These 23 things take more time than you first think they will.  Like always, I think that I will just do the basic and then that isn’t good enough.  I’m lucky to have someone who likes and is good at this stuff and is willing to help me.  I’m so proud, I put a picture up on my opening page.  It’s one of the places where I will be for the next 2 weeks.

When I was a kid (way back there in the 50s) technology was going to make our lives easier.  We were going to have more leisure time and by now ( the new millenium) we would be riding around like the Jetsons.  Life is definitely better in many ways, I’m just not sure that technology has done it.  I am not a Luddite, so I am going to do this to the best of my ability and I’m going to try to have FUN.

But right now I’m going on vacation!
